Ok ok, so I was all Grumpy Mc Grump Grump and then two awesome things happened.
1.) I went to the bank and they refunded me $140 in overdraft fees because the account was supposed to overdraft to a credit card but didn’t. While I was there the manager was telling me about a client who is an older musician with pancreatic cancer. His medical bills are over $1 million, he lives in subsidized low income housing, and he has 12 cents in his bank account. The bank manager rallied all his coworkers for a food drive, then other area managers got involved, and then the president of the Oregon Bank of America got in on it. The manager was leaving to deliver 8 bags of groceries and supplies to the apartment tonight, but the phone was cut off so they were just hoping they could find him there.
I wanted to give $20 but he suggested a gift card instead. So I’m going to see what I can do to help.
Project 1: Do something for someone who needs a hand.
2.) Sometimes your friends are bummed. They have a bad breakup, they hate work, they miss their cat, so many things. This fabulous chica Katie and her beau Matt make fun videos and do cute art projects, so when their friend was sad, they stuck him in a video and danced around him until he was happy.
Project 2: Make your friends happy if they’re sad, no matter what it takes.
You should read her blog Color Me Katie, for giggly little bits like this:
Awesome. She seems to exclusively wear cute strapless dresses in the summer, which I can also get behind. I found her blog via A Cup of Joe, who blogged about Katie’s video of dancing with strangers.
Hooray for silliness.
