It’s such a relief to no longer have a car, but there are times when you just need one. Like when your friend has a bday party out near Beaverton, or when you have to take a bunch of crap to Goodwill. My experience has been great! I have been using Zipcar.com for about 2 years and love it. Sometimes I have to walk to get to a car, but generally there is one close to my apartment.
You can generally get a zipcar discount (usually $25, sometimes more) at one of the green commuter sites. Try http://zipcarcoupon.greencommuter.info/. They post a zipcar coupon. The associated Zipcar promotional code gives you a discount when you sign up as a new member.
