I confess, in addition to purchasing shoes as a self reward for selling my car, I also went out and bought this BillyKirk belt that I’ve had my eye on since last year. A quick assessement of my closet revealed that my standby belts used to be my–ready?–high school belts that I primarily used to hold up my snowboarding pants (ditching assemblies to take a few runs was standard). My belt was for sale at Local 35 last I checked, but when I asked the owner Justin he didn’t know what I was talking about and suggested I root through a sale bin. And ta da! the belt was there, and 50% off to boot (originally $150). I love the simplicity of the clasp, and how it looks like snake fangs. Mine is dark brown.
BillyKirk is a small company of two brothers who employ Amish families to do much of the leather work. They make gorgeous bags, check out their site. How much do I want this bag? So much. Not $295 much, but close.

I just rediscovered that blog Hollister Hovey, by rather swanky NY sisters who I want very much to be my friends. (I found the Lorca/Dali movie there, among many other things.) Their childhoods sound adorable. It makes me want to write more about mine, and just generally be more fabulous.
