An ostrich and the silverware

just heading to the storeMy dad lived on a hacienda in the lake district of Chile until he was 15. Among the horses, sheep, pigs, and other farm animals you’d expect, they kept a pet ostrich. He was little enough to ride it, and the bird had the run of the place. It would wander by the low house and suddenly extend its neck in a window, spooking whoever was in the room. Hello, ostrich! One day, it tip toed up to their outdoor dining table when no one was looking and gobbled down their dinner, including a fatal fork.

Can you imagine an ostrich in your yard? Poking its head in to nip bread off the table from 6 feet away!
