Another design has lopsided, wavy angles. Nice work. They’re all about $250, so out of my price range, but with a compass, a stack of cardboard, and some time on my hands, I feel I may be able to crank one of these out myself. My favorite part is the light design the cardboard guts cast on the wall.

There’s a cool video of them assembling a cardboard chair–from salvaged pieces–here. It seems to go: Cut piece, apply glue, stack another piece, apply glue, stack, glue, stack, glue, stack, press down with something heavy. Repeat. I love cardboard for design work, it may just be my favorite material besides air.

This was bound to happen: James Titterton, an artist in the UK, is offering his body as a canvas for a piece called Tan the Man. The winning designs, submitted via email, will be printed as vinyl stickers, affixed to his body, and then he’ll enter a tanning booth. The photos will be on display in a gallery. See his blog for more and submit yours before Sunday!

This reminds me of something I read years ago in a photography interview. If you have a favorite photo on an old fashioned negative, use medical tape and tape the negative down on your skin before sunbathing. I remember the photographer had used a portrait of his brother, and after several days in the sun he had the positive image on his tanned skin.

Thanks to Brandy at Everyday Monkey, where she continues to spot a monkey a day.
